This is considered “Posting Insurance Payments 101” and you will understand the importance of properly posting the insurance payment by procedure/provider. You will gain an understanding of the EOBs to help you post the insurance payments properly. Clean ledgers and accurate accounting will build trust and confidence with the team and patients. Review and understand the various types of insurance payments, and create an accurate process for posting insurance payments. Determination of proper insurance write offs and reconciliation of your posted insurance payments.
Course Objectives
After the course attendees will:
- Gain a firm understanding of the importance of posting your insurance payments accurately
- Distribute insurance payments by procedure (especially important to track the associate dentist’s net production and net collections)
- Review the EOB and determine when an in-network adjustment (insurance write-off) applies to the payment
- Determine proper notation for insurance payments, denials, appeals and resubmitting to easily track the status of the claim.
