- This role is more of a gradual build, and so there may be some time before you reach full earning potential. Ramp-up time varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including performance, sales pipeline, availability, and familiarity with our vetted software systems. Broadening your knowledge of the software tools we use can also open up more assignment opportunities, which may help support a faster ramp.
- Generally, contractors can expect to begin seeing their first office assignments after completing training, though it may take several months beyond that to fully ramp up toward individual financial goals. We encourage you to communicate directly with your manager about your specific financial goals so they can help guide you and set realistic expectations along the way.
We have two pay dates per month. You are always paid on the work you completed the previous month in the following month. For example, if you supported an office in May, you will receive pay in June.
- While training is unpaid, it's designed to give you the tools and confidence you need to succeed in the role. Throughout training, you'll have the opportunity to practice the skills and tasks you'll be expected to perform on the job.
- Training is largely self-guided, but you won't be on your own. You'll be supported by a Training Manager throughout a two-week timeframe, who will check in at various points to provide feedback. You’ll also meet with your Training Manager to discuss what you've practiced and how you're progressing.
As a 1099 Independent Contractor, you'll be responsible for providing your own equipment. Whether you prefer a laptop or desktop is up to you, just be sure it's a recent model capable of supporting your work (Chromebooks are not recommended). Dual monitors, a printer, and a shredder are also recommended for optimal efficiency.
- This role offers flexible scheduling as you can work full time or part time, and you're able to determine your own hours outside of a few core requirements.
- You must be available for 4 consecutive hours daily within business hours (8 AM EST – 5 PM EST), Monday through Friday.
- If you have full-time availability, at least the first 20 hours of your week should be split across these consecutive 4-hour blocks daily. Outside of these core hours, you're free to structure your schedule in the way that works best for you.
This role differs from a W2 or salaried position, where you're guaranteed an immediate set salary or hourly rate. As a 1099 Independent Contractor, your workload is more of a gradual build, so you'll grow to support multiple clients simultaneously over time, depending on your availability and bandwidth. Throughout this process, you'll be supported by an Account Manager and our internal team. Your Account Manager will communicate available opportunities to you, allowing you to decide what to take on as your capacity grows.
- As this position is a 1099 independent contractor role, it does not include benefits. While this opportunity begins as a 1099 contractor role, DCS does offer the possibility of transitioning into a W2 Account Specialist position. W2 employment is not guaranteed and depends upon evolving business needs. Contractors interested in pursuing a W2 role should communicate this with their manager; the typical timeframe for consideration is after one year of service as a 1099 contractor.
- DCS is committed to promoting from within. Leadership positions and other openings that align with an individual's skills and experience will be communicated internally as they become available. Should a W2 offer be extended, complete benefit details including health insurance, dental, and vision coverage will be provided at that time.
- As a 1099 independent contractor, there is no non-compete.
- As a W2 employee, this will be contingent upon your state laws and may be applied. Should you have any questions after receiving a contract, please do not hesitate to reach out to Hiring team.
