Dental practices that use Dentrix practice management software and Vyne Dental for claim submission have recently received conflicting information about continued compatibility between the two systems.

Dentrix’s Communication

According to notices shared with practices, Henry Schein One (HS One), which owns Dentrix, has stated that as early as August 26, 2025, a Dentrix update may prevent users from submitting claims through Vyne. Dentrix has pointed practices toward DentalXChange as the clearinghouse solution.

This communication comes shortly after DentalXChange announced its acquisition by a private equity firm. That same firm also owns HS One.

Vyne’s Response

Vyne Dental released an official statement to clarify its position. Key points include:

  • Vyne currently supports claim submission through a print-based integration method that works like an e-fax or PDF.
  • HS One has indicated that only connections made through its Dentrix Developer Program (DDP) will remain supported. Vyne has applied to join this program, but participation would mean discontinuing its current integration method.
  • Vyne stated it is developing additional options to ensure Dentrix users can continue submitting claims, even if current methods are blocked.

What Practices Should Know

  • Claims can still be submitted with Vyne. Vyne has alternative workflows available and plans to release step-by-step instructions if Dentrix enacts changes.
  • Software updates are important. Vyne advises practices to keep its tools up to date to prevent interruptions.
  • Further guidance will be provided. Vyne has committed to updating users through its platforms (Vyne Trellis and Remote Lite).

Industry Context

The development reflects broader shifts in the dental technology space. With the acquisition of DentalXChange by the same private equity firm that owns HS One, some observers note that Dentrix’s move may align with a strategy to consolidate claim submission services.

Vyne, for its part, emphasizes continued support for open connections and choice in clearinghouse providers, while Dentrix is directing practices toward its preferred solution.

Next Steps for Practices

For now, practices using Dentrix and Vyne should:

  • Monitor updates from both companies.
  • Keep Vyne software updated.
  • Wait for official guidance before making changes to claim submission workflows.
